Mika Abdalla, star of the Prime Video hit Off Campus, is officially single again. The 26-year-old actress, who plays the lead role of Ellie in the second season, has ended her engagement to actor Jake Short, 29, after a five-year relationship. The couple had been engaged for about a year before confirming their split.
A representative for Abdalla told Us Weekly that the two remain on friendly terms. “Given the recent attention on Mika’s personal life, it seemed appropriate to confirm that she and Jake are no longer together. They continue to support one another and maintain a friendly relationship. They ask for privacy and respect,” the spokesperson said. The exact timing of the breakup hasn’t been disclosed, though as recently as February 21, Short shared reflections on 2025 that included photos of the two, commenting, “Each photo tells a story” and “I’m speechless.”
Their relationship began on set. Abdalla and Short met while filming the Hulu original movie Sex Appeal in 2021, which sparked both professional and personal connections. Their engagement was publicly announced in May 2025, with Short’s manager Brian Medavoy sharing photos of the celebration and praising the couple’s journey “from the set to real life.”

What once seemed like a forever love has come to an end after half a decade together, as both actors focus on their careers and maintain mutual respect despite the breakup.
