Charles Spencer is starting a new chapter — and this time, he’s doing it far away from royal traditions and crowded palaces.
The 61-year-old younger brother of Princess Diana recently gave followers a rare glimpse into his honeymoon with new wife Cat Jarman after the couple quietly married in Arizona. Spencer shared a personal message alongside a photo from the desert, revealing just how emotional the moment had become for him.

“May 15, 2026 is the happiest day of my life,” he wrote, before recalling a conversation with a close friend who once told him that Cat would stay by his side “even if you lived in a cabin.” Spencer then added that he never realized she would truly be happy living with him “in the desert.”
The newlyweds exchanged vows in Sedona, Arizona, with the famous Cathedral Rock serving as the backdrop for the ceremony. Cat Jarman, a well-known archaeologist, wore a pale blue Greek-style gown with a plunging neckline as the pair celebrated in the middle of the desert landscape.

Their relationship began far from cameras and royal headlines. Spencer and Jarman first met during archaeological excavations on the grounds of Althorp Estate — the Spencer family home where Princess Diana is buried. Jarman led the excavation team that uncovered the remains of an ancient Roman settlement on the property, and the professional connection later turned personal.
The marriage comes two years after Spencer’s divorce from Karen Gordon, with whom he shares daughter Charlotte Diana. Over the years, Charles Spencer’s complicated private life has repeatedly made headlines, especially surrounding his relationships with his children and former wives.

Spencer is the father of seven children from multiple marriages. He shares daughters Kitty, Amelia, Eliza, and son Louis with his first wife, model Victoria Lockwood. Following their divorce, Lockwood publicly accused Spencer of domestic abuse, while he responded by claiming she struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. Reports later suggested that his older children became estranged from him.
He also shares two children — Edmund and Lara — with his second wife, Caroline Freud.
Now, after years of public family tension and deeply personal scandals, Spencer appears determined to present a calmer and happier version of his life beside Cat Jarman. But for many royal watchers, the romantic desert photos are only reopening old conversations about the Spencer family’s troubled history.
People online already seem divided over the new marriage and the emotional honeymoon post. Some see a man finally finding peace, while others think the past is impossible to separate from the picture he’s trying to present now. What do you think?
