Tom Holland has opened up about why he has yet to host Saturday Night Live, despite receiving multiple offers. The 30-year-old actor, known for his role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, revealed on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast that his struggles with dyslexia make reading lines from cue cards during a live broadcast extremely intimidating.

“I’m highly dyslexic, which is a big part of the reason I haven’t hosted SNL,” Holland admitted. “The idea of reading something on the fly and having it change terrifies me.” He explained that while he can read without issue, speaking lines aloud under pressure often triggers a mental block, leaving him frozen. “The read-through is the hardest part for me,” he added, saying he usually studies his lines in advance and skims them rather than relying on reading word-for-word from the cards.
This candid insight sheds light on the challenges Holland faces behind the scenes, even as he navigates high-profile roles and public performances.
Despite his fears, fans continue to hope for the day Holland finally brings his charm, humor, and superhero energy to the iconic SNL stage.
